Acadiana beef field day set for March 3

(02/02/18) JEANERETTE, La. — The Acadiana beef cattle producers field day will be held March 3 at the LSU AgCenter Iberia Research Station.

Registration starts at 8 a.m., and the program begins at 8:30 a.m. with presentations on:

— Effects of cover crops on soil health.

— The beef export market and its effects on beef pricing and policy.

— Parasite resistance to dewormers.

— Controlling ryegrass in bermudagrass hay meadows.

— Care of newborn calves.

— Evaluating low- and high-input cow-calf management systems.

— Improving the use of nitrogen fertilizer.

— Louisiana Master Farmer Program update.

— Graduation ceremony for the Master Cattleman Program.

The research station is located at 603 LSU Bridge Road, Jeanerette.
