(11/01/17) BATON ROUGE, La. — The LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden has announced the call for entries for the eighth annual Brush with Burden art exhibition sponsored by the Friends of the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden.
A juried multimedia exhibition, Brush with Burden features all types of art.
The entry deadline is Jan. 20, 2018, and entries may include paintings, 3-D work and photographs. Accepted works will be on exhibit from March 14 to March 22 in the Ione Burden Conference Center and Steele Burden Memorial Orangerie in the Botanic Gardens. The winners will be announced at a reception on March 17.
This show is open to all U.S. residents 17 years of age and older and to all art media except video and film, Kuehny said. Works must be original, must have been produced in the past three years and must not have been entered in previous Brush with Burden competitions.
The entire entry process, including submitting images and paying entry fees, will be conducted online. Works to be in the exhibition will be selected based on digital images submitted.
A maximum of six entries will be accepted from each artist. All artwork must be the sole work of the submitting artist and must be priced and available for sale, including any frame.
All winning works will be displayed during April 2018 at the Shaw Center for the Arts in downtown Baton Rouge.
