- Acadiana cattle field day set for Oct. 21
(10/02/17) ST. MARTINVILLE, La. — The Acadiana Cattle Producers fall field day will be held Oct. 21 at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Cade Farm.
The event starts at 8 a.m., and the program begins at 8:30 a.m.
Topics will include presentations on abnormalities in newborn calves, hay production quality and quantity, the current cattle market, Louisiana Master Farmer Program, management of shrinkage in weanling calves, bermudagrass planting methods, control of bulrush and smutgrass, and avoiding spontaneous combustion in hay.
A lunch will be available.
The Cade Farm is located at 1178 W.J. Bernard Road, St. Martinville.
