(05/25/17) ST. JOSEPH, La. — The LSU AgCenter Northeast Research Station will showcase research and demonstration plots at a pest management and crop production field day on June 20 in St. Joseph.
Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. with coffee and doughnuts. Field tours will run from 9-11 a.m. followed by crop and administrative updates and a sponsored lunch.
The field tours will depart from behind the main office building. The Northeast Research Station is located on Hwy 605 north of St. Joseph.
A broad range of topics will be covered, including:
— Row rice production.
— Cover crop management.
— Current topics in field crop pathology.
— Precision planting.
— Cotton pest management and field crop insect update.
— New herbicide technologies.
— Crop irrigation and water policy and programs.
The field day is approved for Phase II and continuing education credits for the Louisiana Master Farmer program.
