LSU AgCenter beef cattle, forage field day set for March 30 in Clinton

(03/10/17) CLINTON, La. – The LSU AgCenter will host a beef cattle and forage field day on March 30at the Bob R. Jones-Idlewild Research Station in Clinton.

Registration will begin at 2:30 p.m. at the station, which is located at 4419 Idlewild Road. The event will conclude with a sponsored dinner.

Presentations during the afternoon will cover a range of topics, including:

– Control options for privet and broomsedge.

– Sprayer calibration.

– Controlled release nitrogen fertilizer.

– Handling calving difficulties.

– Treating common herd health issues.

– AgCenter administrative matters.

The field day fulfills the requirements for Phase II of the Louisiana Master Farmer Program. It also may be counted toward Master Farmer continuing education credits.
