(01/31/17) ALEXANDRIA, La. – An LSU AgCenter workshop on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones, in agriculture will be held March 16 at the State Evacuation Shelter on U.S. Highway 71 south of Alexandria.
Registration starts at 8:30 a.m., and the session will run from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
This seminar is open to farmers, consultants and anyone else involved in crop production, forestry, nurseries and cattle operations.
Topics to be covered include federal rules and regulations, using an unmanned aerial vehicle for crop scouting, analysis of imaging data and options of different aircraft.
Demonstrations of drones in flight and processing software also will be conducted.
