(01/24/17) CROWLEY, La. – Carol LeDoux, administrative programs specialist at the LSU AgCenter H. Rouse Caffey Rice Research Station, received the Charles E. Dunbar Career Civil Service Award recently (Jan. 20).
She was among 12 state civil service employees honored at a ceremony in New Orleans.
“This is a very prestigious award, and it recognizes Carol’s dedication to the mission of the Rice Research Station for over 35 years,” said Steve Linscombe, station director, who nominated her for the recognition.
Nominees for the Dunbar award are judged on commitment to the classified service, contributions toward workplace improvement, personal initiative and volunteer community service.
Linscombe said LeDoux keeps the office running smoothly. “Carol is a perfectionist, and the quality of her work is unsurpassed,” he said
Her work includes administrative duties for the LSU AgCenter Southwest Region, AgCenter extension offices in 14 parishes and an additional research station. She maintains the accounting ledgers for more than 50 accounts.
“She greets everyone with a smile and always is willing to lend a helping hand,” Linscombe said. “She has the upmost respect from her coworkers. You could not ask for a more dedicated and loyal employee than Carol.”
LeDoux, of Indian Bayou, started working at the station in 1978.
She said she enjoys her work maintaining the station’s fiscal records because the people who work with her have become like family.
She has been honored previously for her work. She received the LSU Foundation Staff Outstanding Service Award in 2013 and the LSU AgCenter Ganelle Bullock award in 2015.
