(10/25/16) BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU AgCenter LaHouse Home and Landscape Resource Center will host its next seasonal Saturday Open House on Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will highlight the “healthy home” features incorporated into the building and design of LaHouse.
Visitors can explore high-performance home features, cut-aways, videos, publications, the exhibit room and more with experts on hand to answer questions, said Claudette Reichel, AgCenter extension housing specialist.
LaHouse showcases practical solutions to many housing challenges and needs, including common health hazards such as mold, dust mites and lead; how to “design for life” or create a safe, convenient environment for all ages; and ways to improve energy efficiency.
LaHouse is also open for self-guided tours Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
LaHouse is located at 2858 Gourrier Avenue in Baton Rouge across from LSU Alex Box Stadium. A donation of $5 per adult is requested to help support LaHouse educational exhibits and operations.
