(09/06/16) BATON ROUGE, La. – Brian Chandler, the LSU AgCenter area forestry agent for southeast Louisiana, has been named a fellow of the Society of American Foresters.
Fellow awards recognize Society of American Foresters members who have provided several years of leadership and service to the industry at the local, state and national levels. New fellows are recognized at local and state society meetings as well as at the society’s national convention.
Chandler is one of 23 fellows selected this year. Based at the AgCenter Bob R. Jones-Idlewild Research Station in Clinton, Chandler coordinates a number of forestry industry meetings and lends his expertise to many, including landowners, various organizations and 4-H youth.
“Brian is so deserving of this award,” said Regina Bracy, director of the LSU AgCenter Southeast Region. “To be recognized by the society of forestry professionals is a testament to the excellence of Brian’s programming, his service to the forestry industry and the respect the forestry professionals have for Brian.”
