Crops field day set for July 14 in Alexandria

(06/28/16) ALEXANDRIA, La. – The LSU AgCenter Dean Lee Research Station will hold its annual field day July 14 starting at 8:30 a.m. at the state evacuation center next to the LSUA campus.

The field tour begins at 8:50 a.m., and presentations will be made by LSU AgCenter experts on insect control, plant pathology, soybean research, herbicides, corn agronomy and using drones in agriculture.

An update on the LSU AgCenter by Bill Richardson, LSU vice president for agriculture, and Rogers Leonard, LSU AgCenter associate vice president, will follow the field tour.

Naveen Adusumilli, LSU AgCenter assistant professor for water policy, will provide information on the Environmental Quality Incentives Program offered by the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Kaden Guillory, Louisiana 4-H past president, will talk about how 4-H shaped his life.
