  • Conducting laboratory and field plot research evaluating registered and experimental fungicides in agricultural crops including: cotton, corn, soybeans, wheat, and grain sorghum.
  • Conducting novel laboratory and field plot research to further define fungicide sensitivity profiles of C. kikuchii and the epidemiology of purple seed stain and Cercospora leaf blight in soybean.
  • Composing and editing scientific manuscripts for publication.
  • Conducting off-station trials throughout central and northern Louisiana in cooperation with other scientists, producers, industry personnel, and agricultural consultants.
  • Additional responsibilities include supervision of transient labor, laboratory maintenance, chemical storage, field plot maintenance, equipment operation and maintenance, and data collection, interpretation, and presentation.

  • Conducted many off-station trials in cotton, corn, soybean, sweet potatoes, and wheat throughout central and northern Louisiana cooperating with other scientists, producers, industry personnel, and agricultural consultants.
  • Conducted entomological, pathological, agronomical, and weed science plot research evaluating registered and experimental pesticides in agricultural crops including: cotton, corn, soybeans, rice, sweet potatoes, wheat, grain sorghum, and sweet corn.
  • Conducted plot research evaluating the performance of experimental crop varieties containing various technologies from multiple companies (including USDA/EPA regulated trials). Also responsible for designing, mapping, planting, maintaining, and harvesting regulated trials.
  • Conducted novel research relating to the development of variable rate ground and aerial pesticide application technologies.

  • Discovery and delineation of fungicide resistance in major crop pathogens, and development of avoidance and mitigation strategies.
  • Statewide responsibilities for ongoing and emerging issues in cotton and wheat pathology.
  • Statewide responsibilities for disease management education in all field crops except sugarcane and sweet potato.
  • Primary pathology contact for all crops in the northeast region (13 parishes).
  • Involved in many collaborative research/extension applied research projects in cotton, corn, soybean, grain sorghum, wheat, and other Louisiana crops.
