4-H Agent's Message

Enclosed in the Horse Show Information Packet you will find the horse show entry forms, Tri-Parish Show rules, and show schedule. As we are still operating during the COVID-19 pandemic, please realize that all rules and schedules are tentative and subject to change. As we receive updates from the District and State Show offices, we will update our horse exhibitors and families.

All entries are due to your designated Parish Extension Office by April 11, 2022. Be sure to check and see that all entries have proper signatures, and all information is correct. We will not accept them incomplete. We have included a general “snapshot” of appropriate information in this packet, however if you would like more information or a detailed list of rules and regulations regarding a specific event, please visit the LSU Horse Show Webpage.

If you need assistance filling out your entry forms, please don’t hesitate to contact us and we can schedule an appointment to assist you.

The Tri-Parish 4-H Horse Show will be Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the Ag Arena in Opelousas, La (1939 West Landry St, Opelousas, LA, 70570.) 4-H horse exhibitors in Avoyelles, Evangeline, and St. Landry Parish are eligible to participate. Below you will find the show schedule, informational packet, and entry form.

Please return all forms completed and signed by Monday, April 11, 2022 to the St. Landry 4-H Office, 1065 Highway 749, Suite A, Opelousas, LA, 70570.

All Acadiana District Horse Show and LSU State Horse Show entries and applicable fees are due to the St. Landry 4-H Office April 11, 2022 with parish entries.

Please make sure that all applicable entry forms are completed and signed before submitting.

2022 State Horse Show Schedule

The Parish Premier Exhibitor Contest is open to all Tri-Parish horse exhibitors and does not require pre-registration. If you are interested in participating in the Acadiana District Horse Show Premier Exhibitor Contest (7th-12th graders) and/or the State Premier Exhibitor Contest (9th - 12th graders) you must pre-register by the deadline. The Premier Exhibitor Program is designed to place emphasis and recognition on the exhibitor’s knowledge and skills in the 4-H and FFA projects. The program provides additional awards and recognition to all exhibitors at the LSU AgCenter Horse Show.

Please remember the resume must be filled out in your own handwriting.
