The Louisiana Master Gardener program is a service and educational activity designed to recruit and train volunteers to help meet the home horticulture needs of residents while providing an enjoyable and worthwhile experience for volunteers. The volunteer aspect of the Master Gardener Program allows individuals to dedicate their time and talents to citizens of their community by applying the science and art of horticulture. Any adult with a willingness to learn and a desire to help others can become a Master Gardener. Training is tailored for beginners and experienced gardeners and includes topics on soils, plants, pest management, and much more.
