In order to try to streamline responsibilities within individual parishes and regions, the LSU AgCenter will be transitioning duties for extension agents over the next several months. Justin Dufour, Assistant County Agent in Avoyelles parish, will be assuming the ag and natural resources (ANR) responsibilities for Rapides and Grant parishes, which will primarily include row-crop duties. Donna Morgan will be focusing on pesticide re-certification, Worker Protection Standard training, cover crops, water quality, and the Master Farmer Program for the Central Region.
Questions can still directed to any of our offices, but the primary contact person for specific issues such as horticulture, livestock, and row-crop agriculture may be changing, depending on the parish.
For those producers with private pesticide applicator cards that expire before December 2018, you will need to attend one of the meetings below, or a meeting in a neighboring parish. Meetings for Avoyelles, Rapides, and Grant parishes will include:
Other pesticide re-certification meetings may be scheduled in addition to those listed. Louisiana Dept. of Agriculture and Forestry requires a $25 re-certification fee, with an additional $15 paid to the LSU AgCenter. Please bring two checks or money orders to the re-certification meeting you attend.
It is the policy of the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service that no person shall be subjected to discrimination on the grounds of race, color, national origin, gender, religion, age, or disability.
