LSU AgCenter Offers Gardening and Lawn Care Classes

Are you interested in learning more about gardening and lawn care? The LSU AgCenter is offering six classes covering a variety of garden- and landscape-related topics in early 2025.

Classes will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 PM on Thursday evenings at LSU AgCenter’s Tangipahoa Parish office (305 E. Oak St., Amite). Topics are as follows: fruits on January 16, vegetables and herbs on January 30, lawns on February 13, ornamental landscape plants on February 27, soil and fertilizers on March 13, and pest management (including diseases, insects, and weeds) on March 27.

Fruits, vegetables and herbs, and pest management classes will be taught by Dr. Mary Helen Ferguson. Mr. Clark Robertson will teach lawns, landscape ornamentals, and soils and fertilizers classes. Clark and Mary Helen are Horticulture Agents with the LSU AgCenter.

Classes are offered free of charge, but pre-registration is requested. To pre-register or for more information, please contact Mary Helen.
