LSU AgCenter Will Hold Strawberry Grower Meeting

(News release for July 11, 2024)

The LSU AgCenter will hold a meeting for commercial strawberry growers from 1:00 to 4:30 PM on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the LSU AgCenter’s Hammond Research Station (21549 Old Covington Hwy., Hammond).

Mr. Clark Robertson and Dr. Mary Helen Ferguson of the LSU AgCenter will speak about strawberry irrigation, frost protection, and fertilization. Dr. Congliang Zhou of the LSU School of Plant, Environmental, and Soil Sciences will present about possible applications of precision agriculture in Louisiana strawberry production, and we will connect with Dr. Natalia Peres of University of Florida remotely for a question-and-answer session about Pestalotia leaf spot and fruit rot.
