Pumpkin Decorating Contest

This contest will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd, at the 4-H facility.

Registration will be held all day from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. 4-H’ers will have the opportunity to bring pumpkins to school and will be picked up by Ms. Margo.

If you would like your pumpkin back, they can be picked up Thursday, October 24th from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.

This contest is open to all 4-H’ers.

Real Pumpkins must be used!

The categories are:
Funniest (humorous, amusing, causes laughter, etc.)
Prettiest/Cutest (nice looking, attractive, beautiful, etc.)
Scariest (fright, shock, alarming, etc.)
Unusual (odd, strange, rare, etc.)
Creative (imaginative, innovative, artistic, etc.)
Carved (engraved, cut, etc.)

Awards will be given to Division Winner per category and Overall Pumpkin. Ribbons will be awarded to Blue, Red, and White placing in each category:

Division I – 4^th grade
Division II – 5^th & 6^th grade
Division III – 7^th & 8^th grade
Division IV – 9^th – 12^th grade

Life Skill Lessons

This year our educational focus will be Life Skills Development. Each month a different Life Skill will be taught.

Lesson 1 – Laundry Care

Laundry is a life skill needed by everyone.  Taking care of your clothing protects your investment in your wardrobe, is good hygiene, and keeps clothes looking and smelling good.

Whether you are home, in an apartment or traveling, there are options for “doing” laundry. Laundry care steps include: sorting, pre-treating stains, washing, drying, storing.

Broiler Orders

The 4-H Office is now accepting orders for Broilers.

Orders and money for broilers is due November 22, 2024, to the 4-H Office. Broilers can be purchased for $.75 each. Checks or money orders can be made payable to: Assumption 4-H Foundation.
