2019 Lincoln Parish 4-H Achievement Day

Austin Barmore, Choudrant Elementary 5th grader, received a door prize at the Lincoln Parish 4-H Achievement Day.

The LSU AgCenter was proud to host over 200 Lincoln Parish 4-H members, leaders, parents, and volunteers as they learned to “Be SAFE To Be Super” at the 2019 Lincoln Parish 4-H Achievement Day held April 4, 2019, at the North Louisiana Exhibition Center. 4-H members from throughout Lincoln Parish took part in various activities, which included the 4-H quiz bowl, 4-H club song, yell, banner, and t-shirt contests, and a test was given on “Be SAFE”. We were honored to have Deputy Eldred Hardison, from the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office, as our guest speaker. He gave tips about being SAFE to the 4-H members and even did some dancing with them.

The annual Lincoln Parish 4-H Awards Program was held that afternoon for the 2018-19 school year. The awards and recognition recipients are as follows:

Numerous Lincoln Parish 4-H members received awards for Beef, Dairy, and Black History poster contests and high scores on the 4-H Achievement Day, “Are You Super SAFE” Assessment.” Lincoln Parish 4-H graduating seniors received State 4-H Honor Cords and Service Awards.Lincoln Parish 4-H also recognized the hard work and dedication the adult 4-H Leaders and Volunteers put into the 4-H program this year. They are extremely appreciated for the great example they set for the youth of Lincoln Parish. Lincoln Parish 4-H received support from some generous sponsors for the awards given to the deserving 4-H members, clubs, and volunteers. The service learning project for Lincoln Parish 4-H this year focused on cancer awareness. 4-H clubs in the parish collected “Coins for Cancer” to be donated to St. Jude. Lincoln Parish 4-H Clubs collected over $2000 for this cause. As you can see – with Lincoln Parish 4-H - great success, knowledge, and fun will be achieved.
