Yvonne Normand started as a 4-H member when she was in the 4th grade and has been a member of the 4-H community for 36 years. As a 4-H member, Yvonne participated in as many food and clothing projects as she could. Upon starting her teaching career, she became a 4-H Organizational Club Leader and St. Landry Parish 4-H Junior Leadership Club Leader. Throughout her years of service, she served as a positive role model for many 4-H youth. She helped train many 4-H University blue ribbon winners focusing on demonstrations and career preparation.

During her time with the 4-H program, she earned the St. Landry Friend of 4-H Award and a Bronze Level Louisiana 4-H Master Volunteer. Yvonne served as an active member of both the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences and the Louisiana Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. While an active member of LAFCS, she served as President of the Southwest District Chapter.

Mrs. Normand has helped to make a positive difference in the lives of 4-H Members and Presidents alike.
