Lily Perrin will graduate from Kaplan High School, where she has been highly involved in leadership, academics, and athletics. She serves as Student Body President, FFA President, Vermilion Parish 4-H Jr. Leader Vice President, and KHS 4-H Vice President, and is an active member of Beta Club, and the Louisiana Junior Cattlemen’s Association. Her involvement in agriculture has led to success in livestock judging, meat identification, and cattle exhibition. In addition to her agricultural involvement, Lily participates in athletics as a member of the Pirates’ Gold Dance Team, the track team, and the powerlifting team, where she has competed at regional and state levels.

Through these experiences, Lily has developed a strong work ethic and a passion for agriculture, leadership, and service. These values have guided her decision to continue her education at McNeese State University, where she plans to double major in Agricultural Business and Animal Science. She hopes to use her education to make a meaningful impact on the agricultural industry and the communities that depend on it.

Lily is from Kaplan, Louisiana, and comes from a ranching family that operates cattle ranches in Perry & Henry, Louisiana, along with a beef processing business in Eunice, Louisiana. As a sixth-generation rancher, she has been immersed in agriculture from a young age. She has spent years caring for and exhibiting registered Hereford cattle, learning the responsibility, discipline, and dedication required to properly manage livestock. In addition, her work in her family’s processing business has provided her with valuable insight into the business side of agriculture and the importance of delivering a quality product from ranch to consumer.

Looking ahead, Lily plans to pursue a career in Cooperative Extension, where she can mentor youth through programs such as 4-H and FFA, advocate for agriculture, and support farming and ranching families across Louisiana. She is committed to using her education and experiences to strengthen her family’s agricultural legacy while helping shape the future of the cattle industry. She looks forward to using what she learns from this internship to broaden her knowledge about production agriculture and farm management.
