Community Service

Let’s Make DeRidder Shine! On November 7 at 10am, the Junior Leader Club will host a Community Trash Pick-Up Day at 3177 Highway 190 W, DeRidder, LA 70634. All 4-H clubs are invited to participate to earn volunteer hours or simply help improve our community. Please begin collecting gloves and trash bags, and don’t forget to bring your own to the event!

We’re also partnering with Mrs. Ann Hereford for the Christmas Penny Store, which provides holiday gifts for nursing home residents and their families. Donations of socks, blankets, slippers, personal items, and small gifts residents can give to loved ones are welcome.

If you’d like to help with the Trash Pick-Up Day, the Christmas Penny Store, or receive updates on either project, contact the Beauregard Parish 4-H Office at (337) 463-7006.

Welcome to the Parli Pro Lemonade Party!

Let’s whip up a delicious pitcher of lemonade—using parliamentary procedure!

Every ingredient gets added through motions, seconds, discussion, and voting.

It’s a tasty way to learn how to run a meeting like a pro!

How It Works:

Each step follows parliamentary procedure—just like in real meetings!

  1. Motion – A member suggests adding an ingredient.
  2. Second – Another member agrees it’s a good idea.
  3. Discussion – The group chats about it.
  4. Vote – The chair calls for a vote.
  5. Result – If the majority says “yes,” the ingredient goes in!

Ingredients Added by Motion:

  • 1 Pitcher – Motion to begin with the pitcher!
  • 4 Cups Cold Water – Motion to add water!
  • 1 Cup Fresh Lemon Juice – Motion to add lemon juice!
  • 1 Cup Sugar – Motion to sweeten the lemonade!
  • Ice Cubes – Motion to chill the drink!
  • Optional: Sliced Strawberries – Motion to garnish with flair!
