West Feliciana LSU AgCenter Meets with Stakeholders & Community Partners

Group picture of ALC members.

The West Feliciana LSU AgCenter staff is committed to providing effective and efficient programs which result in an improved quality of life for the people of West Feliciana through research and education. We rely on the assistance of our stakeholders and community partners to help us implement and evaluate our programming efforts. The LSU AgCenter agents in Ag & Natural Resources, 4-H Youth Development, and Nutrition & Community Health hold advisory leadership council meetings and/or conduct surveys to gather information on our programs.

Once the local situation is assessed to determine needs and issues, the staff hold a joint advisory leadership council meeting. On March 26, West Feliciana LSU AgCenter stakeholders and community partners met at the West Feliciana Extension Office to discuss the issues and provide program direction. The members helped to prioritize the issues and needs. The top three issues of concern were:

4-H Educational programs: Social Media pressure, Home economic type classes, Ag Career Day for High School

Ag & Natural Resources- Horticulture: Avenues for small farmers to sell fruit and vegetables

Nutrition & Community Health: Family nutrition education

As the LSU AgCenter agents prepare their annual plans of work, they create goals and objectives on how they will achieve outcomes and meet the needs of the parish.

Special thanks to those who attended our program advisory leadership council meetings, completed program surveys, or participated in our Joint Advisory Leadership Council Meeting. Their assistance and support are appreciated.
