Dr. Charity Schaffer is the Assistant Area Youth Development Agent for St. Helena and Tangipahoa Parishes at the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center. A proud native of St. Helena Parish, she is dedicated to empowering Louisiana’s youth with opportunities to excel in STEAM professions.
Through her work at the SU Ag Center, Dr. Schaffer leads innovative programs like the Precision Agcademy, which offers an FAA Part 107 Certification Course to equip students with the skills needed to earn their small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) license. This initiative prepares young professionals for careers in agriculture, technology, engineering, and beyond.
