This certification is for those who apply restricted use pesticides in public areas, on residential or commercial landscapes, on golf courses (public or private) and more. There are many subcategories that you can choose from that is directly or very closely related to the type of work you wish to do. Commercial applicators may charge a fee for their services or be paid by the company in which they are employed.
To become a commercial pesticide applicator you must pass two tests. You must first pass the test based on the National Pesticide Applicators Certification Core Manual. Then you must pass a test based on a manual that focuses on a specific area of expertise called a subcategory. The subcategory is a specific type of subject matter such as “Ornamental and Turf” (Cat. 3) or “Forest Pest Control”. (Cat. 2B). As stated above, there are many subcategories so be sure to find the correct one for your needs. To acquire the study manuals for these tests you may go to our online store by clicking on the link: Pesticide Applicators
