A brief description of the site and role of the intern

Southern University swine and poultry units. The student will learn daily care of multiple species: poultry, rabbits, and swine on campus, complete a research project on swine production with fermented feed, then also help with outreach for multiple programs Ag Science completes over the summer.

List of Qualifications

Animal Science or Pre-vet student, willing to work with animals, & lift more than 40 pounds.

Primary Tasks, Duties, and/or Responsibilities

Daily care of poultry, rabbit, swine, weigh swine, measure out feed samples, collect biological samples, and collect data and analyze.

Success Measure or End of Project Deliverables

Involved in data collection, help with analyzing data, and put together a report of the study. This project is part of ongoing research.
