Job Description

The undergraduate intern of this program will conduct research on rice-pathogenic and associated bacteria focusing on their interactions with other bacteria and the rice host.

List of Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge and lab skills on microbiology.
  • Basic knowledge of biochemistry and chemistry.

Primary Tasks, Duties, and/or Responsibilities

Preparation of media for culturing bacteria, cultivation and management of bacterial strains, DNA extraction, DNA sequence analyses, management of rice plants for virulence assays, and preparation and presentation of progress and final reports.

Co-authorship of research articles and presentation at professional meetings
