The Urban Entomology Lab at the Department of Entomology, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA will host an student intern. The student will work as an undergraduate researcher in the area of termite behavior, ecology, and management.
One year of college level biology courses, and willingness to study insects

Under the guidance of Dr. Sun and a graduate student (TBA), the undergraduate student will conduct an independent research project selected from one of the following directions based on their interest: 1) social behavior in subterranean termites, 2) physiological adaptation of termites to environmental stress, and 3) development of novel tactics for termite management. The student will receive training on laboratory techniques, scientific writing and presentation, and statistical analysis.
A final report of the research project, and a presentation (poster or oral) at one LSU research symposium or a scientific meeting.
