1995 Rice Research Annual Report

Research work at the Rice Research Station, Crowley, Louisiana, is conduded cooperatively by the Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station and the United States Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service. The 1995 rice research program included breeding, biotechnology, variety testing, production and distribution of foundation seed, fertilization, soil and water management, cultural pradices, weed control, insed control, disease investigations, rice drying, bird control in rice, and physiology studies. Forages and crops grown in rotation with rice were evaluated relative to increasing the efficiency of land use. The aquaculture research program places emphasis upon production practices, crawfish forages, and multi-cropping of crawfish with agronomic crops. Although most of the research work was performed by members of the Rice Station staff, several staff members from Baton Rouge conduded research at this station.
