The Northeast District Horse Show is scheduled to be held June 28 and June 29 in Bastrop at the Morehouse Activity Center. The State Horse Show is scheduled for July 5 through July 8 in Gonzales at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center. 4-H members will have the opportunity to compete in halter, speed, western, showmanship and non-riding events during these shows. The purpose of the 4-H Horse Program is to provide young people opportunities to participate in a series of activities designed to improve horsemanship, sportsmanship, character, competitive spirit, discipline and responsibility.
