On March 3, members of the LSU AgCenter West Feliciana Family & Consumer Sciences Advisory Leadership Council met via TEAMS. Those in attendance included: Lee Coleman, Sara Wilson-Rogers, Karen Harris, Clarencia Grimes, and Cynthia Vessell-Whitaker. Layne Langley, LSU AgCenter Area Nutrition Agent, shared a power point which included information about the AgCenter including its mission and purpose. She provided a program review for FY 2020. Langley shared information on the nutrition and school gardens at Bains Lower Elementary and provided details about the outreach and projects she worked on during the “lockdown” mode during COVID. Langley went on to tell the group about the programs she offered and taught online/virtually including where and how she advertised them. She then told the group about the Healthy Communities Projects that had just been completed. Langley shared pictures of the new parklettes in Solitude and West Feliciana Community Center.
Then she opened the floor to discussion and recommendations. Here are the questions and answers provided by those members on the call.
