National Nutrition Month

March is National Nutrition Month

Celebrate national nutrition month to learn more about the importance of making informed food choices, developing sound eating and physical activity habits. The month includes weekly tips to follow by varying your diet, meal planning, cook and preparation and visiting with a registered dietician.

Celebrate throughout the month!

Week One: Eat a Variety of Nutritious Meals Nutritious Food Everyday

  • Include 5 food groups including protein, grains, vegetables, fruits, and dairy.
  • Try healthy recipes
  • When traveling incorporate healthy meals and snacks
  • Include healthy meals and snacks

Week Two: Plan Your Meals

  • Use a grocery store list when shopping
  • Know the menu before dining out, a healthy tip is to visit the restaurant menu online before visiting
  • Try healthy recipes

Week Three: Make Tasty Meals

  • Reduce Waste by planning and portioning your meals ahead of time
  • Use food safety tips, remember to wash your hands and clean, separate, cook, and chill
  • Share meals
  • Try new flavors

Week Four

  • Consult a registered dietician to help you plan healthy meals.
