Instruction in this 1-day course centers around bagasse boiler operations.

You Should Attend If:

• You are involved with boiler plant operations and you need to gain an understanding of the role that the boiler plant plays in the raw sugar factory, and the factors that affect boiler capacity, efficiency and air emissions. The emphasis will be on bagasse boilers but natural gas boilers will be discussed.

You Can Expect To:

• Gain an understanding of combustion calculations
• Review and compare the various types of bagasse furnaces employed
• Become familiar with the factors that influence boiler efficiency
• Use charts and tables to calculate boiler efficiency
• Become familiar with flue gas analyzers and boiler test equipment
• Learn how the various heat recovery systems improve boiler efficiency
• Review recommended procedures for handling boiler emergencies
• Understand the need for boiler feed water treatment
• Understand the role of boiler feed water deaerators
