Master Gardeners to discuss soils, edible plants May 11 at the Central Branch Library

(04/28/23) BATON ROUGE, La. — The East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners will present talks on soil and edible plants Thursday, May 11, at the Central Branch Library, 11260 Joor Road.

The talks, scheduled for 5:30 p.m., are open to the public and free of charge.

Master Gardener Kerry Hawkins will start off the evening by showing the different types of soil that are available to the gardener, and he will help you decide which would best suit your needs. He will also explain how to get your soil tested to find out what is needed to make your flowers and vegetables grow.

The second presenter is Master Gardener Bob Clary, who will talk about all of the wonderful food that is growing wild in your landscape and is out there for the picking. Come learn what is already growing in your yard that could be nourishing for you and your family.
