(03/31/23) BATON ROUGE, La. — If you think you know roses, the LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden will let you prove it during its rose lecture on April 20.
Come on out and join rose expert Paul Zimmerman for his lecture on “Everyday Roses: Using Roses in the General Garden,” from 9 to 11 a.m.
Zimmerman is known as the rose expert, and you may have seen his educational videos on YouTube. But what you probably didn’t know is that he was the exclusive rosarian to the Biltmore in Asheville, North Carolina, for 10 years.
In addition to being a well-published writer, Zimmerman also is an independent consultant for Jackson & Perkins and botanical gardens around the world.
Loosely guided by his book, “Everyday Roses,” his lecture will focus on rose selection, uses in the garden and sustainable care.
The rose lecture is free and open to the public. Registration is required at https://bit.ly/3G7E5BP.
The LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden is located at 4560 Essen Lane in Baton Rouge.
