(03/02/23) BATON ROUGE, La. — The LSU AgCenter Botanic Gardens at Burden will present a citrus workshop in partnership with Baton Rouge Green on Saturday, March 11.
This free workshop is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon with classroom presentations and hands-on demonstrations.
This is an opportunity to get any burning questions answered about your home citrus trees.
After the hard freeze at Christmas, many homeowners are wondering if their trees survived. This workshop will help you to determine what your next steps should be.
The day will begin with a presentation from LSU AgCenter agent Gabriel LoCoco, who will be explaining all you need to know about citrus care and maintenance. After the presentation, the Botanic Gardens staff will give a pruning demonstration in the orchard.
After the pruning demonstration, participants will be given an opportunity to practice pruning methods.
Participants will need to bring some durable gloves and a pair of pruners to the workshop.
Coffee and pastries will be served during the lecture. Pre-registration is required by visiting https://LSUAgBGCitrusWorkshop.eventbrite.com.
