(10/06/22) BATON ROUGE, La. — The East Baton Rouge Master Gardener Association will present talks on the hardy hibiscus and fruit-producing trees Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Greenwell Springs Regional Branch Library at 11300 Greenwell Springs Road.
The talks, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., are free and open to the public, but seating is limited.
Louisiana Master Gardener Lyn Zakiyah Hakeem will lead the evening with a presentation on the hardy hibiscus. Hakeem will discuss proper care and propagation of the hibiscus and which hibiscus flourish best in our area.
Louisiana Master Gardener Leo Broders will finalize the evening with a talk on fruit-producing trees. This presentation will stress the importance of choosing varieties that are adapted to Louisiana’s climate, site selection and cultural practices.
