Renewal, restoration of timberland to be discussed at forestry forum

(03/08/22) AMITE, La. — The 2022 Florida Parishes Forestry Forum is set for April 1 at the Florida Parishes Arena in Amite.

LSU AgCenter forestry agent Whitney Wallace said the forum, which starts at 9 a.m., is a professional development meeting made up of LSU AgCenter extension specialists and forestry experts excellent in their field.

“Our forum is one of five hosted annually around the state,” she said.

The forestry forum engages partnerships among the diverse landowners and professionals that play a collaborative role in the management of our southeastern forests, she said.

“If you are a landowner, consultant or work in the forest industry in and around the Florida Parishes area, you do not want to miss this educational forum,” Wallace said.

Attendees can meet and network with others in the industry and take home a wealth of knowledge to prepare for the future of land management.

“Our experts will help broaden your knowledge to help you make the most out of your forest dollars,” she said.
