Master Gardeners to discuss gardening for beginners at the Bluebonnet Branch Library on February 24

(02/03/22) BATON ROUGE, La. — The East Baton Rouge Master Gardener Association will host talks on Beginning a Garden and Pruning on February 24 at the Bluebonnet Branch Library at 9200 Bluebonnet Boulevard.

The talks, which are scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., are free and open to the public. Seating is limited.

Louisiana Master Gardener Richard Babin will discuss Gardening for Beginners from Planning to Harvesting.

With Covid and people being in isolation, many individuals are turning to gardening for the first time to help fill their long hours of isolation and to grow vegetables that are free of chemicals.

This presentation will help guide them through the planning of their garden, how to select what to plant, care of their crops, harvesting their produce and what to do after the harvest.

Louisiana Master Gardener Leo Broders will follow with the timely topic of pruning.
