Forestry forum to be held Feb. 18 in Hammond

(01/23/20) Hammond, La. — The 30th annual Florida Parishes Forestry Forum will be held on Feb. 18 at the University Center at Southeastern Louisiana University.

The forum will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. The theme this year is “The New Normal: What’s Your Plan?”

The forum, which is sponsored by the LSU AgCenter, will provide information on how to navigate in the present-day markets that are challenging the industry, said LSU AgCenter area forester Whitney Wallace.

“We will be discussing topics that will address forestland investment and risk, ways to increase timber sales, how to use land management and cost-share programs so they can truly be an asset in your pocket and much more,” Wallace said.

The special guest speaker on the program will be Louisiana State Rep. Jack McFarland.

Registration is $25 per person. And the fee includes lunch and refreshments.

For more information or to receive a program with a registration form, contact Wallace at 985-748-9381 or wwallace@agcenter.lsu.edu.
