(04/01/19) BATON ROUGE, La. — Gardeners and those interested in gardening are invited to the annual Spring Garden Day at the Florida Parishes Arena in Amite from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on April 27.
The Tangipahoa Parish Master Gardeners Association in partnership with the LSU AgCenter have lined up a day of education and fun for the entire family, said Annie Coco, a Tangipahoa Parish Master Gardener.
“The event will feature a plant swap, plant sales, expert speakers and gardening advice, educational exhibits, children’s activities and vendors with gardening and landscape-related items,” she said.
There also will be concessions available from the Florida Parishes Arena.
Gardeners are encouraged to bring their problem plants, or a piece of it, for diagnosis.
The plant sale will feature native plants and bedding plants from several commercial plant vendors.
“Bring the family for a day of fun, information, crafts and plant shopping,” she said.
The Florida Parishes Arena is enclosed, so the event is rain or shine. The arena is located at 1301 N.W. Central Avenue.
Admission to the event is $5 per vehicle.
