(07/31/18) CLINTON, La. — The second annual Feliciana Wildlife Expo, a daylong event featuring wildlife presentations and demonstrations, will be held on Sept. 15 near Clinton.
The LSU AgCenter Bob R. Jones-Idlewild Research Station, located at 4419 Idlewild Road, will host the event.
The AgCenter, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the Bob R. Jones Wildlife Research Institute and the East Feliciana Tourist Commission are organizing the event, said Glen Gentry, resident coordinator at the research station.
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., speakers will discuss a range of topics, including aging deer, benefits of fire in the forest, deer diseases, deer netting, feral hog toxicants, butchering techniques, native browse and herbicides, and Louisiana snakes.
For the kids, there will shooting sports activities, displays of wildlife furs and skins, fossils and falconry. There also will be a native plant walk as part of the expo.
Admission to the expo is free. Food will be available for purchase.
