2017 4-H University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, attended by Red River 4-H members

4-H University is the premier 4-H event of the year for 4-H members 13 and up was held in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on June 20-23. This year marked the 105th annual celebration and was host to both new-and-improved contests as well as the traditional contests, plus nine Clover College tracks, educational programs and campus tours. 4-H University has expanded to offer both competitive and non-competitive activities along a range of interests from theater arts to technology. There were 40 contests offered in the competitive track providing individual and team competitions in demonstrations, interviews and project related examinations.

For those 4-H members who lack the time to devote to preparing for state competition, or are looking for greater opportunities in leadership, citizenship and life skill training, CLOVER COLLEGE was available. Nine program tracks covering a broad spectrum of interests have been developed offering outstanding hands-on workshops and group activities.
