General Rules

1. The Premier Exhibitor Program is designed to place emphasis and recognition on the exhibitor’s knowledge and skills in 4-H and National FFA Organization projects. The program provides additional awards and recognition to all exhibitors at the LSU AgCenter Livestock Show.

2. The Premier Exhibitor Program is optional. To participate, an exhibitor must be available for each activity at the specified times.

3. Only senior level exhibitors are eligible to compete (Grades nine through 12).

4. Premier Exhibitor Programs are available for beef, dairy, poultry, sheep, swine, goats, rabbits and horses. An exhibitor may compete in one or more Premier Exhibitor Programs provided they exhibit a qualified animal at the LSU AgCenter Livestock Show.

5. Awards will be presented to the top five exhibitors in each contest.

6. All decisions are final and are not subject to protests.

7. An exhibitor may be named Premier Exhibitor in a project only once.

8. Written exam questions will be taken from the resources listed for each species. Resource lists can be found on the Premier Exhibitor species handouts.

9. If competing in more than one Premier Exhibitor contest, an exhibitor profile sheet must be turned in for each species.

10. All exhibitor profile sheets for the horse contest must be submitted to Neely Heidorn (nheidorn@agcenter.lsu.edu) by July 1 of the contest year to be eligible to compete. A different exhibitor profile sheet must be submitted for each project.

  • First Place: $500, belt buckle and monogrammed jacket
  • Second place: $200 and award
  • Third place: $150 and award
  • Fourth place: $100 and award
  • Fifth place: $50 and award
