What is 4-H University?

Each summer 4-H members who are 8th-12th grade are eligible to attend 4-H University on the campus of LSU and A&M College in Baton Rouge to demonstrate their skills in more than 40 competitive events, workshops, and educational sessions. It is a culmination of a 4-H member’s year of hard work and dedication. Events range from Agricultural Use Demonstration, Automotive Care, Fishing Sports, Computer Simulation, Public Speaking, fashion, and more! Through competing, youth demonstrate life skills in teamwork, decision making, problem solving, resiliency, and many more. Each competitive event allots youth an opportunity for personal growth, skill mastery, and other life skills vital to functioning members of society.

When is 4-H University?

This year's 4-H University will take place on June 18th - June 21st 2024.

Contests/Awards

A list of all the contests for 4-H University can be found here: Contest Rules and Resources (lsuagcenter.com). Awards for contests can include: Louisiana 4-H Educational Trip, National 4-H Congress Trip, Scholarships and more.

Clover Colleges

Members who do not wish to compete can instead participate in educational tracks known as Clover Colleges. Clover Colleges offer members an opportunity to explore a variety of topics such as digital arts, animal science, robotics, and more. The list of Clover Colleges will be released in late January 2024.

Leadership Boards

Members can also apply to be a member in one of our State Leadership Boards. Applicants will campaign and be voted on during 4-H University. For a full list of the State Leadership Boards please visit: Leadership Boards (lsuagcenter.com).

Price

The price to attend 4-H University will be $180. Prices may change based on room availability.
