Junior Leader Service Project

On November 13thfour members of the Jefferson Parish 4-H Junior Leaders club participated in a service project making craft kits for children staying at a local shelter. They came together to make 25 bags filled with craft activities in two hours! Shoutout to Ethan Domingue, Maia Peralta, Elizabeth Porrazzo, and hrilina for their great work and contribution. We also want to thank Beth Gambel, Alaina House, and Pooja M. Rakhs for volunteering their time as well. Interested in joining our 4-H Junior Leaders club? Home School 4-H Club Service Project

Members of Jefferson Parish Home School 4-H Club led by Jessica Saacks gathered together for a service project to make 6 Kid’s Health bags to be donated to Catholic Charities of New Orleans. Each bag contained essentials like soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo and more. They also included other fun items such as hand-made hats and scarves, cookies, activity books and crayons. We want to congratulate Elora B., Evie S., and Amelia S. for doing an impressive job and for helping those in need!

Bicycle Rodeo

On February 19th 2022, Jefferson Parish 4-H will partner with Bike Easy in order to hold our 4-H Bicycle Rodeo. This year we are holding the event at LaSalle Park. This is a great opportunity for your 4th – 12th grader to learn bicycle safety and maintenance. Included in the event is a tour of the LSU AgCenter’s Demonstration Garden at LaSalle Park and Ms. Heather is planning on bringing her Blender Bike to make smoothies! Make sure to check our Event page regularly for updates and registration forms or scan the QR code to the right. The deadline to register is February 11th 2022. We hope to see your family there! Volunteers Needed!

Picture6 onlinenewsletterpngWe have many events coming in the near future and need your support! Volunteering with 4-H is a great way to support the youth in your community. There are many ways you can volunteer. For instance, you can be a judge in our Commodities Ambassador or Cooking Contest. Perhaps you would like to assist us in setting up the 4-H Bicycle Rodeo. Or you can simply volunteer as a driver to help our members get to events or camps. We greatly appreciate any help we receive! If you would like to volunteer, please visit our website or scan the QR code to the left. These positions require background checks and trainings, so please don’t hesitate!

Jefferson Parish Cooking Contest And Ambassador Contest

Both events will be held on January 29, 2022 at Pontiff Playground. Now is a perfect time to start preparing. Our webpage, will be updated with registration forms and dates soon.
