Each seasonal Saturday Open House has a theme to highlight a category of high-performance home features and the benefits they offer. You can explore both the focus exhibits and the many other special features, cut-aways, point-of feature signs, videos and LaHouse displays. Free publications on home building and improvement are available, along with experts on hand to answer questions.

A donation of $5 per adult is requested to help support LaHouse educational exhibits and programs.

Winter Saturday Open House

If keeping your home warm and cozy means bracing for high utility bills, don’t miss this event!

It features cozy technologies for cold weather comfort, energy savings and healthy indoor air – with special exhibits on insulations, sealing cold drafts, efficient heating, healthy fireplaces and more. Free publications will be provided and experts will be on hand to answer any questions.

Summer Saturday Open House

See resilient home solutions and your own home’s flood and wind zone. Explore storm-rated roofing, the flood-hardy wall, a low-cost closet storm shelter, impact-rated window protections, and more ways to avoid the hassle, expense and dangers of storm and flood damage. In addition, there will be demonstrations of a flood map portal to help you determine your home’s flood zone, elevation, wind zone and more.

Fall Open House

Explore the healthy home features incorporated into the building and design of LaHouse to learn how to make your home a healthy place to live and breathe – for yourself, your family and friends of all ages, especially those who suffer from common environmental health problems.

The healthy home benefits showcased include indoor air quality and universal design. See actual examples of features that reduce common health hazards in the home such as asthma and allergy triggers, carbon monoxide and VOC chemicals. Discover how to “design for life” to create a convenient home for all stages of the life cycle with safe, functional, accessible and adaptable home design and furnishings.
