Many school clubs will use Google Classroom to communicate with their 4-H’ers. See your 4-H club leader for information on how to access their communication tools.
Congratulations, 4-H’ers, for participating in all that 4-H has to offer. Don’t forget. The opportunities in 4-H last all year long! 4-H Camp, LOST Camp, 4-H Achievement Day, and 4-H University are just around the corner. The Louisiana 4-H Leadership Board application process is now open. Applicants must be enrolled in 9th to 12th grade during the 2024-2025 school year. Applications are due by 11:30 p.m. on May 1, 2024. Late applications will not be accepted. This year 4-H Achievement Day will be held by invitation only on April 30, 2024, as an evening program. Members invited to attend 4-H Achievement Day will receive an email (using the email address on file in the 4-H Online system) with details regarding the event. A list of eligible members will also be posted on each school 4-H club’s Google Classroom. Invitations are based on participation in parish 4-H contests and events during this school year. Congratulations to all 4-H’ers for your achievement and progress this year!
We are currently in the process of reviewing and approving applications for 4-H Camp (for current 4th – 6th grade 4-H members) and 4-H LOST Camp (for current 7th – 8th grade 4-H members). For those members who are selected to attend 4-H Camp or 4-H LOST Camp for St. Charles Parish, they will receive an email with additional information in the near future. If you are interested in attending 4-H Camp (July 8-11, 2024) or 4-H LOST (Louisiana Outdoor Science and Technology) Camp (July 29, 2024, through August 1, 2024) and have not already applied to attend, please contact the LSU AgCenter Office at 985-785-4473 for an application. As spots fill, we will process applications on a waiting list as space becomes available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
4-H University is an experience like no other, where you get the opportunity to live college life before college age – living in college dorms, competing in state contests to win trips, going to hands-on classes, hanging out with friends, and much more! This year, 4-H University will be held from June 18 – 21, 2024. To learn more about the 4-H University experience, visit the Louisiana 4-H University website.
4-H University is open to current 8th – 12th grade 4-H members. If you are interested in learning more, we will have a 4-H University Informational Meeting on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the St. Charles Parish LSU AgCenter Office located at 453 Spruce Street in Norco, La. If you are eligible and interested in participating in 4-H University but are unable to attend the Informational Meeting, contact your 4-H Agent, Dr. Kali Zammit, at kzammit@agcenter.lsu.edu or 985-785-4473 to receive more information.
