The St. Charles Parish 4-H Shooting Sports Program was established to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes so that they may become self-directing, productive, and contributing members of society through a disciplined 4-H youth development program. The program is designed to do the following:
Members of the St. Charles Parish 4-H Shooting Sports Club have the opportunity to participate in various trainings, practices, and competitions. Members are trained by 4-H volunteers who have been certified as 4-H Shooting Sports Instructors. 4-H Shooting Sports Instructors educate members on firearm safety and sportsmanship.
Youth (Ages 10-19 by January 1) either residing or attending school in St. Charles Parish are invited to become members of the St. Charles Parish 4-H Shooting Sports Program. In addition to attending regular practices, members are invited to participate in social gatherings with club members and 4-H Shooting Sports competitions.
