Bienville Parish teens were selected by application and interview process to participate in the JET summer enrichment program, provided by
Bienville Parish Police Jury, Bienville Parish School Board, and LSU AgCenter. These teens from each police jury district are exploring careers,
learning about workforce preparedness, and increasing their knowledge and skills in financial literacy.

Through the JET program, students from across Bienville Parish developed an understanding of different payroll deductions, learned to interpret a paycheck stub, and identified the types of benefits provided by some employers. Paycheck Twist (or Twister as we all know it) was the game played to assess what these teens had learned in the class taught by LSU AgCenter Extension Agent, Diane Uzzle.

The LSUAgCenter Curriculum "Living Your Financial Experience" was utilized in teaching sixteen JET teens to examine their interests, personality, aptitude and values to determine career options that they may consider exploring. Participants used a card game and other resources to discover their Career Personalities, identify careers they are interested in and set their own individual SMART career goals.
