38 Years with LSU Ag Center - Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service

Dr. White is a Professor Emeritus with the LSU Ag Center’s Botanic Gardens at Burden and the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education and Evaluation. She serves as a child development specialist in her role at the Botanic Gardens . Her current professional emphasis is developing and leading programs that improve the lives of families with young children.

Dr. White is responsible for leading several education and training programs for childcare providers in Louisiana. She is co-author of the Character Critters program - a popular early childhood character development program for educators, parents and young children. Recently, Dr. White developed the Little Bookshelf Program model that is designed to encourage parents of newborns to read everyday to their babies as a strategy to form strong parent-child bonds and prepare young children for school success. More recently she implemented the StoryTime at Burden activity.
